This Foundation Degree in Business with Travel and Tourism offers an engaging, industry-focused curriculum designed to develop the knowledge, confidence and practical skills needed for a career in the global tourism and events sector. You will explore business management, marketing, finance, entrepreneurship and contemporary tourism issues, including sustainability, equality and diversity. Through applied learning, you will build the professional insight to understand changing visitor needs, manage tourism experiences and contribute effectively to successful travel, tourism and events organisations.
Entry Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience or hold a Level 3 Diploma (or an equivalent overseas qualification). English and Maths proficiency will be assessed through the College’s internal assessments. Applicants who provide recognised qualifications or certificates demonstrating English and Maths proficiency at the College’s required standard may be exempt from the corresponding internal assessment(s), subject to verification by the College.
Progression Opportunities
Graduates can progress to the BA (Hons) Management (Top-Up) programme at New College Durham. Alternative progression routes may include top-up degrees such as BSc (Hons) International Tourism & Hospitality Management at other local universities. Further opportunities include employment across the tourism, travel, hospitality and events sectors, including roles within travel agencies, tour operations, visitor attractions, accommodation providers and event organisations.
